University of Utah RN to BSN




 

Basic Information: This program is meant for Registered Nurses wanting to obtain their BSN.  You must have your ADN and an unencumbered license or successful completion of the NCLEX within two months of starting the program. 

Must Dos: Apply to the University of Utah and the College of Nursing.

Program Length: This program starts at the beginning of each summer and is completed at the end of the following summer.  It is a part-time program online that can be completed in 16 months.  It is set up to be finished in four semesters.

Prerequisites: Courses include Anatomy & Physiology, Elementary Chemistry, Bio-organic Chemistry, Statistics, Nutrition, Human Development, and Pathophysiology. Microbiology can be taken as a co-requisite class if has not already been completed upon admission.  Courses must be completed with a GPA of 3.0 or better. 

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Admission Tests: You must submit your ACT/SAT scores.  For those students who do not speak English as their native language, you must score at least a 50 on the Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK) test.
