Second Degree Accelerated BSN Program




 

Basic Information The University of Michigan is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN. 

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Michigan and the College of Nursing.

Program Length: This program is four semesters long.  It starts at the beginning of one fall semester and ends at the end of the following fall semester (for example:  August 2015 through December 2016).  A list of classes can be found here

Prerequisites: Courses include English Composition, Family Concepts, Normal Nutrition, Developmental Psychology, Statistics, and two Social Sciences (Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology).  Science prerequisite courses include Anatomy & Physiology, Organic & Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and six credits in Pathophysiology.  If you cannot get six credits in Pathophysiology, students must have credits in Microbiology and/or Genetics for a total of six credits. 

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Application Information: The next available accelerated BSN cohort will start in fall 2016.  The deadline for the College of Nursing application is March 3, 2015.  The application for the University of Michigan can be found here

Admission Tests: International students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) or the International English Testing System (IELTS).
