Second Degree Accelerated BSN
Basic Information: Southern Connecticut State University is located in New Haven, Connecticut. This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN. Only 30 students are accepted into the Second Degree Accelerated BSN program each year.
Must Dos: Students must apply to Southern Connecticut State University and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: 12 months long.
Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Human Biology I/II, Microbiology, Math for Natural Sciences, Statistics, General Chemistry I, Psychology, and Lifespan Psychology. Prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C+ or better. Students must have no more than four prerequisite courses outstanding when they apply to the BSN program. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to June 30th of the application year.
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
